Acting Chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman will visit 9 districts of the northern part of the country for four days. His tour will begin on January 11 and end on January 14. BNP has sent a letter to the government seeking the security of Tariq Rahman based on this visit.
This information was informed in a press release sent from the BNP Chairperson’s office on Wednesday. During the four-day visit, Tariq Rahman will visit the graves of slain July fighters and martyrs of the protracted democratic movement and will participate in the doa mahfil organized to pray for the peace of the departed soul of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
It is said in the circular that on the first day of the tour, after the program in Dhaka on January 11, Tariq Rahman will exchange views with party leaders and activists in Gazipur, Tangail and Sirajganj. Later he will reach Bogra.
Starting his tour from Bogra on January 12, he will participate in organizational programs in Rangpur, Dinajpur and Thakurgaon districts. On the same day, he has a program to pay tribute and pray at the grave of Abu Saeed, who was killed in the July-August uprising in Rangpur.
On January 13, the Acting Chairman of BNP will hold a meeting and exchange views with party leaders and activists in Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat and Kurigram districts.
Tariq Rahman is scheduled to return to Dhaka on the last day of the tour after participating in some more programs in Rangpur and Bogra on January 14.
During his visit to the northern region, he will visit the graves of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani, Shaheed Abu Saeed and Taiba Majumdar, who were killed in the July war and those who died in the democratic movement. Besides, it is said that he will meet their families as well.
